Ministry of Finance Addresses Financial Wellbeing Institute Survey Findings

July 3, 2026

The Ministry of Finance has commented on a recent Financial Wellbeing Institute survey regarding the 2025 Financial Wellbeing Index. The survey indicated an overall increase in the index compared to 2024, with improvements across all 14 contributing areas. However, the ministry acknowledged that some citizens still face challenges like the energy crisis and rising living costs, and express concerns about retirement planning.

The government noted it has implemented measures to counteract inflation, revised the tax framework to enhance disposable income through altered tax brackets and increased tax-free allowances, and is reforming the pension system to ensure its sustainability and adequacy. The ministry also highlighted the survey's finding that improving financial literacy among citizens is crucial to fostering a culture of saving within households. The government stated it continuously reviews such reports to inform its economic and social policies.
