Cyprus Supports France with Firefighting Aircraft

Cyprus is dispatching two firefighting aircraft to France in response to a request from Paris to help combat ongoing wildfires. These aircraft, which are air tractors, are leased to Cyprus by the European Union through the RescEU Mechanism and are normally stationed in Cyprus. The RescEU Mechanism is a European initiative designed to provide civil protection resources to member states facing significant disasters.
